The Chicken Lady.

When I left camp in Sierra Leone, I didn’t expect the chickens to follow me home.

Actually, these chickens were already here when I arrived.  My mom had purchased nine baby chicks a month or so ago to keep as pets and also for eggs.  The little hens have already grown quite a bit.

Last night, I had dinner plans with my friend Jess, who happens to be an animal enthusiast, but I think she was more interested in hanging out with the chickens :)

Jess was pretty good at catching those birds.  She even caught one for me to hold.

Eventually, we tore ourselves away to get some dinner, but I told Jess she could come over to visit her new friends anytime…or just come pick up some eggs.
