Alastair and I are leaving camp for Freetown today.
Camp is usually a fairly calm and serene place. In the morning when the fifty or so local workers are getting organized and vehicles are getting loaded up, or in the evenings when the village is having one of its all-night discos, there is a bit of noise, but for the most part it is a quiet place to be. However, all that has changed with the arrival of a few more drillers, tipping the scales at a eight driller men staying in camp currently. I think it is a scientific fact that one driller man makes about as much noise as five regular men put together. Doing the math, that would make it feel like forty men….yes, forty.
A trip to Freetown is sounding better and better.
