Remember, Remember the 5th of November.

For those that are not as familiar with Bonfire Night, in England Novemember 5th commemorates the foiled plans of Guy Fawkes who was caught with barrels of gunpowder and intentions of blowing up the Houses of Parliament.

It is like our  4th of July but with a lot more bonfires and small fireworks and fewer regulations on using them.  Unfortunately, not only are we missing Bonfire Night in England (boo) we also won’t be able to celebrate with our own little bonfire in camp since we are driving to Freetown.  We have to give ourselves the day to travel there before our flight tomorrow night.  The roads have worsened during the rainy season so the ride takes upwards of seven hours now…believe me, I’ll remember this 5th of November.

Saying goodbye to the animals is always difficult, but I’m very excited for a week in England!

Next Stop: Freetown

The Old Nursery Rhyme..
Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot..
