The Ants Go Marching…

Ants here are no joke.  Driver ants are not to be messed with. Animals and people alike will run away screaming if they come across a moving ocean of ants in the bush.  I’ve only encountered small lines that have moved through camp and have been bitten twice.  The first time a driver ant bit me, the searing pain was relentless because his teeth were in so deep that I could not pull him off and ended up having to crush him, in a panic, while still on me.  The second time, the pain was just as intense and additionally the bite drew blood.  It is said by the people here that, in the past, if driver ants would come into a village, people would simply move.

Most of the ants are blurred due to their speedy pace in this small line.
